Export & Mercosur

Opening the European market to Mercosur exporters

Trade between the European Union and Mercosur weighs 111 billion euros a year, and a generation of European regulations now conditions its access. With Velours International, Datamensio carries compliance measurement to South American exporters. A ground that is opening.

01

The need

For a Mercosur exporter, Europe is no longer just a market: it is an examination. Imported deforestation (EUDR), sustainability reporting (CSRD), due diligence on critical raw materials, sanitary and traceability requirements: each frame adds evidence to produce, and a reason to lose a contract when it is missing.

Many companies in the region, especially mining and agrifood SMEs, lack the infrastructure to demonstrate end-to-end traceability. The risk is direct: blocked access to the European market, penalties, lost export revenue.

02

The approach

Velours International, a French-origin firm specialised in risk management and strategic intelligence, has worked in Latin America for more than fifteen years. By integrating Datamensio into its portfolio through an exclusive distribution agreement, it pairs its knowledge of the ground with a platform that industrialises compliance measurement.

Concretely: an accelerated maturity diagnostic (digital, ESG, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity), roadmaps aligned with European standards, and documented, audit-ready proof of compliance for every export. Field support stays human; measurement is instrumented.

03

What is opening

The first target sectors are those where the stake is most immediate: mining, facing Europe's due diligence on critical raw materials, and agrifood, facing food safety, traceability and environmental rules.

The ground is just opening: this study will grow with the first deployments. But the logic is already set, and it is ours everywhere: turning a requirement into a measurable framework, and endured compliance into a steered trajectory.

« Our clients in Latin America face a dual urgency: managing their risks by complying with increasingly stringent European regulations, while accelerating their digital transformation. The Velours · Datamensio alliance finally gives them a tool that matches the scale of this challenge. »
