Risk Assessment · Datamensio Risk
Risk decisions you can justify.
Your major bids and long contracts carry risk on every front: technical, financial, legal, schedule, logistics. Datamensio turns this into a shared process, from first assessment to go or no-go, with a trace of every decision.

Request a demoThree situations you will recognise
Risk reviews live in spreadsheets and inboxes.
Several versions circulate, nobody knows which one is authoritative, and the committee receives a stack of files.
Scores depend on who is in the room.
The same contract gets a different rating depending on which expert is present. Two bids cannot be compared.
A decision challenged a year later leaves no trace.
Nobody can show who answered, who signed off, or why the score changed.
The tool to replace is not a competitor: it is the spreadsheet and gut feel.
One matrix per bid: phases and domains
The risk leader builds the matrix for the opportunity. A small bid fits in a single questionnaire, a large bid fills the whole grid. Each cell is assigned to domain experts, and each answer receives a deviation level from 1 to 4.
- 1 · no risk
- 2 · low risk
- 3 · significant risk
- 4 · high risk
- Not applicable, without skewing the score
| Assessment | Bid | Negotiation | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Technical | 2 | 3 | 2 |
| Financial | 1 | 3 | 4 |
| Legal | 1 | 2 | 4 |
| Schedule | 2 | 4 | 3 |
| Logistics | 1 | 2 | 1 |
| HSE | 2 | 1 | n/a |
| Contract management | n/a | 2 | 3 |
How an assessment runs
Scope the opportunity
The risk leader selects the domains that matter and the phases that apply. A preliminary scan ranks the opportunity from A to D.
Assign the work
Each cell is assigned to the right experts, who answer only within their remit. An external expert answers a single question via a link.
Assess and mitigate
Contributors rate the deviation and propose mitigations, typed by what they cost.
Validate
Validators accept the answers and assign a confidence level: gross risk becomes residual risk.
Read the status
The dashboard shows risk by domain, mitigation coverage, and which questions to address first.
Decide and report
The risk leader presents the summary to the committee and logs the decision in the tool. A bid that runs for months is filled in phase by phase.
The tool does not replace human review: it does the preparatory work and keeps the record. The meeting becomes shorter and better founded.
What the application does
Sort
Configurable preliminary scan, from A (highest risk) to D. Detailed analysis goes to the opportunities that warrant it.
Scope
Configurable phases and domains matrix, from a single questionnaire to a full grid. Questionnaires drawn from your frameworks, reused or generated by AI. Your frameworks remain yours.
Assess
Deviation level from 1 to 4, probability and impact, risk register, heat map. A measure comparable from one bid to the next.
Mitigate
Typed mitigations (cash flow, resources, contractual drafting, schedule margin), validator confidence level, residual risk, action tracking.
Govern
Contributor, validator, risk leader and executive reader roles, escalation of high deviations, SSO and two factor authentication.
Mobilise
A single link gets an external expert to answer one question, without opening up the rest of the project. Discussions and attachments per question.
Steer
Dashboard by domain, exposure coverage by mitigation, progress, a view across all opportunities.
Decide
Summary report with a go or no-go recommendation, cross cutting risks grouped together, critical points, comparison between two versions.
Trace
Versions locked on a timeline, full history of every answer, complete audit trail, export. Every decision stays defensible.
Everyone has their place in the decision
- Risk leader
- A live view of every opportunity, across all domains and phases. They walk into the committee with a dashboard, not a stack of files.
- Head of bids and contracts
- Comparable, defensible go or no-go decisions, and a pipeline sorted by risk level.
- Subject matter experts
- They answer within their remit and propose their own mitigations. Their work is captured once and reused everywhere.
- Validators
- No more reconciling spreadsheets: they accept answers and assign them a confidence level.
- Executive leadership
- Consolidated reporting, with the ability to see where each score comes from.
AI where you want it, nowhere else
Every score comes from a validated human answer. The summary report is generated on demand, in French, English or Spanish. Teams who wish to can feed an assessment from a meeting note or a contract: AI suggests risk levels, a human confirms them.
Use cases
Bid and contract risk
Assess every bid and every contract by phase and by domain, through to the go or no-go decision.
Pipeline triage
Scan every opportunity and push detailed analysis only to the riskiest ones.
Third party risk
Collect evidence from partners, assess their risk, decide go, conditional go, or no-go.
Compliance risk
Compliance risk matrix, control assessment, treatment plan per risk, evidence log.
Site security
Assess the physical security of industrial or food sector sites with the same matrix.
Risk advisory
A consultancy runs its clients' risk assessments on a structured tool.
Frequently asked questions
We already have a GRC tool. Why another one?
A GRC tool manages enterprise risk over time. Datamensio's risk assessment serves a single decision: whether to bid, whether to sign this contract, and on what terms.
Our spreadsheet works fine. What changes?
A spreadsheet does not say who answered, who validated, or why the score changed. And it does not let you compare two opportunities against each other.
Our contract data is sensitive. Where is it held?
On a platform hosted in Europe, with role based access, two factor authentication, SSO and a log of every action. Your frameworks and your content belong to you.
Does AI decide on our behalf?
No. The summary report is optional and generated on demand, and every score comes from a validated human answer.
Our experts will not have the time.
Each person answers only within their remit, and an external expert answers a single question via a link.
How long does implementation take?
Typically under a month, including the matrix and the first questionnaires.
Who already uses Datamensio Risk?
Datamensio Risk is used by a major nuclear sector operator, one of the most demanding industries there is.
Your next major contract deserves better than a spreadsheet.
Show us a bid in progress: we will show you its matrix, its risk by domain, and the decision pack it produces.
