A Brazilian soy exporter loses a 12 million euro contract with a European buyer. Not over product quality, not over price: because it cannot prove its supply-chain traceability. That is no longer an isolated incident, it is South America's new commercial reality.

Trade between the European Union and Mercosur amounts to 111 billion euros a year. And a new generation of European regulations is redrawing its access: imported deforestation (EUDR), sustainability reporting (CSRD), due diligence on critical raw materials. The message is simple: demonstrate compliance, or risk your market.

In this context, Velours International, a French-origin firm specialised in risk management and strategic intelligence, present in Latin America for more than fifteen years, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Datamensio.

The alliance pairs two complementary strengths: knowledge of the Latin American ground on one side, and on the other a platform able to industrialise compliance measurement, from maturity diagnostic to documented proof, on the European frameworks that matter.

The first target sectors are those where the stake is most immediate: mining, facing due diligence on critical raw materials, and agrifood, facing European rules on food safety, traceability and the environment.
